It all started when…

Elena began by visiting refugee camps, getting to know humanitarian and government workers, and meeting immediate needs, such as clothing.

As the crisis continued and refugees kept coming, they approached their church and decided to house refugees in particularly extraordinary situations, such as pregnant women, single mothers, families split apart, etc.

Over the past four years, they have housed several families. Some stayed only a few months, while others have stayed years.

Journey first traveled to Greece in October of 2016. Over the past three years, we have sent five teams, and the work has become highly relational. While there are opportunities for serving their needs, the majority of our time there has been spent getting to know the refugees and showing them love through organic friendship, which has opened the door for many Gospel-centered conversations.
