Journey Prayer Ministry

In Philippians, Paul charges the body in this way: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Before peace comes prayer.

At Journey, we want to be a people of prayer and petition before the Lord. That is why we have a prayer team ready and waiting to equip our body in the spiritual discipline of prayer and to pray over our church, the community and more. The Prayer Team meets every Sunday during both services to lay praises, thanksgiving, and intercession before the Lord. Journey’s Prayer Team is designed to help you grow deeper in the discipline of prayer no matter what season you’re in or where you are in your walk with Christ. It even includes a kids corner, so bring the whole family!

FAQs

What is the Prayer Team?

The Prayer Team is a group of volunteers trained in prayer who strive to make prayer accessible and doable for all. They gather together during both services each Sunday to pray over the day and after the worship services each Sunday to pray over anyone who requests it. This team is made up of individuals, staff, and even families who are passionate about the spiritual discipline of prayer. Can’t make it every week? No problem! Join us whenever you can!

Do I need to be well-versed in prayer and praying to join?

No! A key purpose of the Prayer Team, in addition to praying over our community, is to equip any believers in the spiritual discipline of prayer. No matter where you are in your walk with the Lord, no matter how intimidating prayer has seemed, the prayer team is ready and able to equip you to be intentional and purposeful in praying.

When does the Prayer Team meet?

The Prayer Team meets during both services, 9:15am and 10:45am, each Sunday where they pray over the church (staff, volunteers, members, guests, groups, events, etc.), any pressing concerns of the church, local/global missionaries and nonprofit partners, salvation and revival, and over all aspects of the upcoming worship service.

They do this through what is known as the “Four Steps of Prayer” process. This follows a sequence of Praise, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Intercession. Anyone is welcome and is encouraged to pray either out loud or privately.

What is Post-Service Prayer?

Post-Service Prayer is simply a time where representatives of the Prayer Team are available following the worship service each Sunday to pray with anyone who desires prayer.
